As a result, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pacd.org\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/217.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Conservation District Law<\/a>\u00a0was passed, and county conservation districts were created. Today there is a conservation district established in every Pennsylvania county except Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<p>Conservation districts implement a variety of programs, and provide assistance for a range of issues unique to their county, such as:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n \t<li>Abandoned Mines<\/li>\n \t<li>Agricultural Land Preservation<\/li>\n \t<li>Chesapeake Bay Program<\/li>\n \t<li>Environmental Education<\/li>\n \t<li>Erosion &amp; Sedimentation Pollution Control<\/li>\n \t<li>Floodplain Management<\/li>\n \t<li>Forest Management<\/li>\n \t<li>Mosquito Borne Disease Control Program<\/li>\n \t<li>Nutrient Management Program<\/li>\n \t<li>Stormwater Management<\/li>\n \t<li>The Dirt and Gravel and Low Volume Road Program<\/li>\n \t<li>Waterway Protection<\/li>\n \t<li>Wildlife Management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each Conservation District is led by a Board of Directors made up of local people from all walks of life.
