The Berks Catholic High School\u2018s Environmental Class took first place. The formal recognition event will be held October 23, 2017, at the Berks County Conservation District\/Farm Service Agency Annual Awards and Scholarship Banquet.<\/p>\r\n<p>The first place team won a $100 gift card and a certificate of recognition from the Berks County Commissioners.<\/p>\r\n<p>Following the contest, the rain barrels were auctioned off and the proceeds went to the Berks County Conservation District Scholarship Fund, which supports students interested in majoring in environmental education in college.<\/p>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/berkscd.com\/news\/rain-barrel-decorating-contest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here to read more<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Berks County Conservation District held its second Paint the Rain School Competition.
