• U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Nonpoint Source Pollution The mission of the Environmental Protection Agency is to protect human health and the environment. The Agency’s website features a variety of fact sheets, stories about successful solutions to a variety of water quality problems caused by nonpoint source pollution, and the Getting In Step: A Guide for Conducting Watershed Outreach Campaigns toolkit.
• Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Bureau of Watershed Management This agency’s mission is to protect Pennsylvania’s air, land and water from pollution and to provide for the health and safety of its citizens through a cleaner environment. The Department’s website offers resources on reducing Nitrogen pollution at home and general watershed fact sheets.

• Eastern Pennsylvania Coalition for Abandoned Mine Reclamation (EPCAMR) EPCAMR represents a coalition of watershed organizations from reclamation partners, co-generation plants, the active anthracite mining industry, regional non-profit organizations, and 16 county conservation districts and other cooperative organizations in the anthracite and bituminous coal region of Eastern Pennsylvania. The website lists upcoming workshops, press releases, and links to restoration project manuals.

• This program is for local land use officials addressing the relationship of land use to natural resource protection. Topics include how to reduce runoff, publications on rain gardens, and municipal initiative success stories.

• Pennsylvania’s Conservation Districts Pennsylvania’s conservation districts have a variety of resources on local NPS issues available on their websites.
• Pennsylvania Lake Management Society The Pennsylvania Lake Management Society is a nonprofit, citizens’ group formed to promote understanding and comprehensive management of lakes and reservoirs and their watersheds. The website includes fact sheets, newsletters, documents, and reports on lake and watershed management.
• Pike County Conservation District The mission of the Pike County Conservation District is to promote protection, conservation, and sustainable use of natural resources through education, public awareness and cooperation with local, state and federal agencies. The Pike County Natural Resource Learning Site includes a variety of soil and water resources such as A Citizen’s Guide to Clean Water.
• US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Region 3 Nonpoint Source Pollution Program The Mid-Atlantic regional office of the US Environmental Protection Agency, is responsible for programs in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. The Water Protection Division is responsible for the management and implementation of the Region’s programs to protect, preserve, and enhance water resources. • US Environmental Protection Agency – Office of Wetlands, Oceans and Watersheds A variety of fact sheets and reports are available on this site. Among them is the document, “Managing Wet Weather with Green Infrastructure Action Strategy 2008,” that outlines ways to bring green infrastructure technologies and approaches into mainstream use for runoff and sewer overflow management.
• US Environmental Protection Agency’s Section 319 Nonpoint Source Pollution National Monitoring Program The purpose of the program is to provide credible documentation of the feasibility of controlling nonpoint sources, and to improve the technical understanding of nonpoint source pollution, and the effectiveness of nonpoint source control technology and approaches. This is achieved through intensive monitoring and evaluation of a subset of watershed projects funded under Section 319. The National Nonpoint Source Watershed Project Studies summary reports are listed on the website by year and by state.
